Cllr Marie Therese Gallagher
A native of The Rosses, Marie Therese and her daughter Liane live in Dungloe. A committed activist and County Councillor, Marie Therese has been involved in numerous local campaigns since being elected to Donegal County Council in 2009, including protection of community hospitals and cuts to the elderly, protection of small schools and cuts in education, need for major investment in local infrastructure in roads and sewage schemes.
Marie Therese is committed to finding long term and sustainable solutions to increasing social and economic problems which blight West Donegal. With the continued support of Sinn Féin and her community, Marie Therese will continue to lobby state bodies and bring forward solution based policies to Council to directly address the area’s increasing unemployment and local business closures; problems which have resulted in mass emigration and social isolation, in local communities.
As part of the Sinn Fein team on Donegal County Council Marie Therese will continue to oppose cuts to our local services and unfair taxes on families, and demand investment in local communities, essential to building social and economic prosperity in West Donegal.
