Cllr Gerry McMonagle
Gerry has served as a Letterkenny Town Councillor for the last ten years, having first been elected in 2004 and then re-elected in 2009.
He is a former Mayor of Letterkenny, serving during the 2011/ 2012 term.
Over those years, he has worked diligently on behalf of the people of Letterkenny bringing in many community initiatives through council motions.
He is at the forefront of a range of council and community committees and boards, including serving as:
Chairperson of the Board of the Aura Leisure Centre
Vice Chairperson of Letterkenny's Joint Policing Committee
A long-time director on the Letterkenny Community Development Project (CDP) management committee
Chairperson of Glencar Celtic Football Club
Through his work with Abhaile Arís, he has been involved in important peace and reconciliation work with many groups throughout the border regions, helping to build relationships and sustain peace.
