Speaking today ahead of polling day tomorrow, the three Sinn Féin Donegal General Election candidates have thanked everyone for their good wishes and support throughout the campaign over the last number of weeks and have encouraged everyone to go out tomorrow and vote for change saying:
“We have been blown away by the incredible level of support which we each have received throughout this campaign, and huge thanks most go to the people of Donegal for the warm reception which we’ve had at doors of homes across this county.
“We’ve taken the decision to stand three candidates in this election race here in Donegal, and we are proud of the fact that we have been able to offer the people of this county the option of electing a strong Sinn Féin team to represent them in the Dáil.
“We are offering the people a real progressive alternative to the failed austerity policies which we’ve witnessed from Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Labour Party.
“This Friday, the people of Donegal have a choice to make. They can choose to elect a government that will maintain the status quo or they can vote for a progressive Government of the left which will ensure that the interests of ordinary people are put first.
“Sinn Féin believes that there is a better way to govern our society and to build a fair recovery and a better Ireland for our citizens.
“If the people of Donegal send a strong Sinn Féin team to the Dáil following tomorrow’s election and if our party are leading the next Government, we will ensure that for the first time in the history of this state, the people of Donegal will no longer be able to say that they live in the Forgotten County.”
