Sinn Féin Launches Campaign to Reopen Short Stay Ward at Letterkenny University Hospital

Donegal Sinn Féin has today (Monday) launched a campaign demanding the reopening of Letterkenny University Hospital’s 19 Bed Short Stay Ward.


The initiative, which was launched this morning at the hospital by Senator Pádraig MacLochainn, Deputy Pearse Doherty and a number of local Sinn Féin Councillors, sees the roll out of a petition as well as a dedicated cross-platform media campaign calling on the Government to reopen the facility in a bid to alleviate the ongoing trolley crisis.

Cleary Centre Project set to be considered in the Coming Weeks – Doherty

Sinn Féin Finance Spokesperson Deputy Pearse Doherty has welcomed confirmation that an application for capital funding for the redevelopment of the Cleary Centre in Donegal Town is due to be formally appraised by the HSE’s Estates Department shortly.


It’s understood that the group, which has overall responsibility for providing property services to the HSE, will examine the proposal for the Donegal Town project at its next meeting this July.
