Government’s Homeless Policy has totally failed Families in Donegal – Cllr Doherty

Sinn Féin Councillor Liam Doherty has responded to the publication of the Department’s latest homeless figures this week by saying that the number of people experiencing homelessness is “unacceptable” and shows that government policy is failing to tackle the problem.


The news comes after the Department’s report for January 2019 showed that there were 10 families in the northwest who were forced to access emergency local authority homeless accommodation.

Council to invite tenders for design of Buncrana Leisure Centre


Inishowen Sinn Féin councillor, Jack Murray, has welcomed confirmation from Donegal County Council that they will invite tenders for the design of Buncrana Leisure Centre.

The news was confirmed in the Chief Executive’s report at Monday’s Council meeting, during which, Cllr Murray moved a motion on the issue.
